Support for Parents

Mature adults don’t make children. Children make mature adults.

All parents experience challenges raising children. And all children and teens experience challenges living with and raising(!)their parents. Most difficulties get resolved in the normal course of things, but when they don’t they can escalate to the point where both parties are exasperated in the extreme and are locked in a lose-lose struggle with one another. Alienation and resentment can result, and who wants to be alienated from one’s children or parents? A perceptive counselor can identify the source of friction, and support the family to creatively seek win-win solutions to the difficulties at hand. This is particularly helpful with teens who by nature are beginning to individuate from their parents, and need increased independence mixed with a healthy dose of supervision and engagement on their parents’ part.
